Catlin Court Walking Tour
The Catlin Court Walking Tour in Glendale covers an area of historic buildings and is located between Gardenia Avenue and Palmaire Avenue. Primarily, most of these 82 buildings are built in the bungalow style of the early 1920s. Otto R. Hansen, a capitalist from Wisconsin, subdivided these 80 acres into lots and named the area “Catlin” after his wife's maiden name. These historic homes offer a dramatic look at what life was like in Glendale at the beginning of the 1900s. The tour spotlights 24 of the Catlin's historic homes, some of which have been converted into stores, specialty shops and restaurants. This area is proudly listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Downtown Glendale Walking Tour
Get a firsthand look at how Glendale's past is strongly linked to its present and future when you take the Historic Downtown Walking Tour. The city originated as a place for farmers in the area to get necessities and to ship the fruits, vegetables and livestock they raised to national markets. The downtown area developed quite rapidly in the wake of this growth, and soon banks, groceries, theaters, businesses and neighborhoods developed in and around this section of town. Several significant structures still remain that echo Glendale's past, and these historic buildings are the basis of this entertaining and interesting tour.
